Terms of service
Plain terms for a directory whose value is that its record cannot be bought. Using DebutList means agreeing to these; the parts that surprise people are marked, not buried.

The agreement
These terms are between you and Oxid Security Inc., a Canadian corporation operating debutlist.com. Browsing the site, holding an account, or buying anything on it means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.
The community guidelines and the privacy policy form part of this agreement. Where the guidelines describe a rule in more detail, that detail applies.
Accounts
You need an account to submit, vote, review or comment; reading needs nothing. One account per person — extra accounts used to inflate votes or reviews are removed along with the signals they produced.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping its credentials safe. Tell us at security@debutlist.com if you think it has been taken over. You must be at least 16 years old.
Claiming a product page requires proof of control of its domain. Claiming a page you do not control is grounds for immediate removal.
What you publish
You keep ownership of everything you post. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, index, cache and syndicate it for the purpose of running and promoting the directory — including in search results, the digest, and social previews. The licence survives account deletion for content that forms part of a permanent record.
You confirm you have the right to publish what you post, that screenshots show the real product, and that the product exists and can be used or bought today — “Coming soon” being a valid state, provided it is labelled as one.
We remove scams, malware, impersonation, white-labelled products presented as original, and anything unlawful in Canada. We do not remove a bad review, a negative comparison, an accurate closure record, or a competitor's listing — regardless of who asks or what they offer to pay.
Permanent records
The part people are surprised by
A published product page is a permanent record. Updates are frozen 15 minutes after posting. Closure records and post-mortems can be edited by the founder but never deleted, by you or by us. Deleting your account removes your profile and unlinks your identity; it does not erase the history of a product that shipped.
This is the whole premise of the site. If you would rather a launch left no trace, do not launch it here.
Lifecycle state — Active, Dormant, For sale, Acquired, Closed — is set by the founder. Automated signals only flag a page for human review; they never publish a label on their own, and any label can be appealed.
Verified numbers
A verified series is read directly from a payment account you connected, and it is append-only: figures are added, never rewritten. You choose whether to publish it, and you may disconnect at any time — the series then stops at its last verified month and is labelled as ended rather than removed.
Submitting figures you know to be false, or connecting an account that is not the product's, ends verification for every product you operate and is stated publicly on the page.
Ranking and paid placement
Organic ranking is not for sale, at any price, to anyone — including advertisers, including us. The five signals and their weights are published on the about page and may change as the directory grows; changes are announced before they take effect.
What is for sale is placement: spotlight slots, category slots and in-feed units. Every one
of them is visibly labelled and carries
rel="sponsored". Paying never changes a score, a
review, or a lifecycle label.
Buying votes, trading votes, running vote rings or paying for reviews results in delisting. Automated discounting of concentrated vote velocity is applied first, so such campaigns mostly waste the buyer's money before we get involved.
Payment and refunds
Prices are in USD and charged by Oxid Security Inc. through Stripe. Sales tax is calculated at checkout; a business VAT or GST number can be entered, and EU/UK sales reverse-charge to you. Full terms per product are on the pricing page.
Advertising slots are refundable in full until the campaign starts and pro-rata after that if we fail to deliver the impressions sold. Auction bids for a spotlight slot are binding once the auction closes and you are the leading bidder. Subscriptions cancel at the end of the paid period; we do not refund part-months, and we do not auto-renew without notice.
If we remove a listing for breaking these terms, no refund is due on anything bought for it.
Intellectual property
The DebutList name, wordmark and the design of the site belong to Oxid Security Inc. Product names, logos and screenshots belong to their owners and appear here for identification and review — nominative fair use, not endorsement.
Copyright complaints go to legal@debutlist.com with enough detail to identify the work and the page. Bad-faith takedown attempts aimed at removing an accurate review or closure record are refused and logged.
Scraping the directory for a competing dataset is not permitted. A public read-only API with sane rate limits covers the legitimate cases.
Suspension and appeals
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines. Every removal is explained by email and can be appealed once to a human, who answers within two working days.
You may close your account at any time. If we terminate your account without cause, we refund anything you have paid for that has not been delivered.
Warranties and liability
The directory is provided as-is. We check what we can verify and label the rest; we do not guarantee that a listing is accurate, that a product works, that a deal code will be honoured, or that a for-sale listing is what it claims. Buying a product, a business or a subscription from someone you found here is a transaction between you and them, and diligence is yours to do.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or USD 100 if you paid us nothing. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect damages. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited under Canadian consumer law.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction — without removing any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use DebutList after that means accepting the new version; if you would rather not, close the account and we refund anything undelivered.
